Nissan has updated its entire lineup according to their strategy of rolling out 6 more new models by the end of the following year: we’ve already seen facelifted Versas and Sentras. But the segment of compact cars isn’t as profitable as the SUV market, so the company’s best-selling received major upgrades. The 2021 Nissan Rogue is new from the ground up, and here we’re giving you a quick guide on its updates.

Design

The redesigned Nissan Rogue is constructed on a fully-new platform. The third generation of the long-term best selling SUV hasn’t changed much in dimensions, but it has become an inch shorter and lower. The 2021 Nissan Rogue features a bolder exterior design: it received a set of pseudo-headlights over the headlamps, a v-shaped grille done in Nissan’s easily-recognizable style, and many sharp lines: enough to make the 2021 Rogue stand out in traffic.

Powertrain

The previous generation of the Nissan Rogue was available as a hybrid, but the manufacturer discontinued this model. Nissan announced the SUV will come solely with a 2.5L engine, pushing 181 horsepower. 181 lb-ft of torque is transmitted through a continuously variable transmission to either front wheels or to all four on vehicles equipped with optional all-wheel-drive.

Interior

The 2021 Nissan Rogue offers an upscale cabin with plenty of amenities, ranging from AppleCarPlay and AndroidAuto, which are both standards on all trims, to a quilted leather interior on higher-level trims. Inside, Nissan shored up the Rogue’s flaws and instilled it with premium tech and features.

Three different displays are available for different trims, ranging from an 8 inches to 10.8 inches. A digital gauge cluster is an option on this compact SUV, giving it a more high-end feel than some of its competitors, like the Toyota RAV4 and the Ford Escape.

Technology

Nissan claims that the 2021 Rogue has the most standard safety technology in the whole class. The list of standard equipment is really impressive:

  • forward and reverse emergency braking
  • rear parking sensors
  • lane departure warning
  • pedestrian and cyclist detection
  • rear cross-traffic alert
  • rearview camera
  • driver attention monitoring
  • forward collision warning

On more expensive trims, you can have adaptive cruise control with Nissan Pro Pilot assist that helps you keep your car in the lane on the highway, adjusting the vehicle’s speed according to corners and intersections through the navigating system. Lane keep assist, front parking sensors, and pop-up info safety display are also available on SV, SL, and the top-tier Platinum trims.
